Day 1: Drive from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
The safari drive from Nairobi takes us through the central Kenya highlands, as the landscape
transforms to an arid one as you approach the northern tourist circuit, in Kenya and your destination,
Samburu National Reserve. You arrive in the afternoon, for a late safari as you enjoy the stunning
Day 2: Exploring the Samburu Plains(Morning and evening game drive)
The safari tour starts with breakfast at your lodge, and as the sun rises, we head to the bush to explore
the arid plains. The giraffes wander through the trees, while the elephants romp on the shallow ends
of the Ewaso Ng’iro River. The river is the source of water for Samburu. If you are lucky you can
spot the Samburu special five, which are the Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, gerenuk antelope, and the
grevy’s zebra. At Shaba Springs, you can also find the endangered Williamson’s lark. These are just
some of the unique cast of the Samburu National Park. Return to the lodge for lunch. Little siesta.
Proceed for an afternoon game drive or you can also choose to take a guided nature walk or visit one of the cultural villages and learn about the lifestyle of the Samburu communities. – at an extra cost
Day 3: Samburu-Mount Kenya
You will have one last short game drive in Samburu National Reserve for a last chance to see
wildlife that you had not seen the previous days. Later you exit the park and head back to the Mount
Kenya region, stopping at the equator line to take photos and learn more about the significance of the
imaginary line, geographically. Proceed to your lodge.There is a waterhole located on the lodge
grounds, and some of the hotel balconies provide vantage viewpoints for game viewing coming to
the waterhole. Wildlife sightings in Aberdares National Park include Giant Forest Hog, bongo,
golden cat, African civet cat, and serval cat. The park forested ravines are also habitat to Black
rhinos, spotted hyenas, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, bushbucks, leopards
among many others. This park is also known for its birdlife, with over 250 species recorded here,
among them, Plovers, sunbirds, eagles, Jackson’s Francolin, Sparrow hawks and eagles. A safari at
the Aberdares National Park will leave you with unique memories found nowhere else in Kenya.
Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 4: Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru-lake Naivasha
After early breakfast leave the Mt. Kenya region and proceed to Lake
Nakuru, taking in the beautiful landscape on the way. This park is one of the most beautiful parks in
East Africa, is known for its large population of bird species as a rhino sanctuary. The black and
white rhinos can be found here, and the Rothschild’s giraffe. The park is unique, not only in Kenya
but in Africa as well, with the biggest euphorbia forest, yellow acacia woodlands and picturesque
landscape. Arrive in time for lunch then afternoon game drive then proceed to lake Naivasha for over knight.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara
Early breakfast, then proceed to the Hell’s Gate National Park. This is the only park where you can
take a bicycle ride as you see the animals. You can hire a bicycle and follow the zebra trails as you
see other animals. You can also do rock climbing here and hiking around the Hell’s Gate Gorges. At
the end of the game drive, you can spice your safari experience with a boat ride at the Lake Naivasha
as you marvel at the hippos. Later we will leave Lake Naivasha and head to Masai Mara Game
Reserve, with lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight shall be at your lodge.
Day 6: Full day in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Your safari vacation is an incredible Kenya adventure safari with a hot air balloon safari in it. (You
have an option to start the day with a hot air balloon safari, at an extra cost, available on pre-
arrangement)
You leave the lodge with picnic lunches in the morning and head to the park for a full day of
exploring the stunning wild plains of Maasai Mara. In the months of July- October, you may witness
the annual stunning spectacle in this reserve, watching the Wildebeest Migration, whereby millions
of wildebeest and zebras, cross over from the neighboring Serengeti to Masai Mara, looking for
greener pastures. You will have your lunch beside a hippo pool as you watch out for the hippos and
crocodiles. Later continue with a game drive in of the expansive Maasai Mara plains. After the game
drive, An optional local Maasai Village visit can be arranged at the end of the day at an extra cost.
Day 7: Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast check out, and go for a short game drive in Maasai Mara, where you have a chance the
spot wildlife for the last time. Later leave Masai Mara via Narok arriving in Nairobi in the evening,
drop of at the hotel or be transferred to airport. You will depart Africa with wonderful wild memories
of your Kenya safari that will last you a lifetime.
