Day 1: Maasai Mara National Reserve

be picked up early in the morning for a drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve from a prearranged pick-up location. The drive is long but scenic, with breathtaking views of the Kenyan countryside. As you approach the reserve, your excitement will grow as you anticipate the wildlife you will soon encounter. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge, have lunch and a little siesta, and in the afternoon embark on an afternoon game drive where you have a chance to see herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, and majestic lions in their natural habitat. The experience is truly unforgettable and will leave you in awe of the beauty and power of nature. As the sun begins to set, you will begin to return to your lodge, where you will enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars. The night is filled with the sounds of nocturnal animals and a sense of peace that can only be found in the African wilderness. Maasai Mara holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their attendant predators. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve

We will go on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch after breakfast. Along with its plethora of resident wildlife, the reserve is well known for its black-maned lions. It is one of the few places where a morning game drive will likely yield the Big Five. Numerous cheetahs are so modest that they will seek shelter from the hot sun under the cars, and some will even climb onto the roof to get a better view of potential prey. With its undulating hills and endless plains extending as far as the eye can see, the vast savannah of the Masai Mara is a sight to behold. There is a ton of wildlife here, including peaceful herds of zebras, gazelles, and wildebeests grazing next to giraffes that are extremely tall. With lions relaxing in the shade and leopards skulking in the trees, the predators are never far behind. The stars of the show, however, are the cheetahs, whose sleek bodies blend in perfectly with the golden grasslands as they swiftly stalk their prey. A truly life-changing experience, watching them hunt will stay with you long after you’ve left this enchanted location. The sounds of Africa and the splendour of nature at its best will surround you as night falls and the stars come out, giving you the impression that you are in a completely different world. Nearly 500 species of birds have been identified, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of storks, and many others.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

Day 3: From Masai Mara National Reserve to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, check out of the camp and embark on an en-route game drive to Serengeti. After border formalities, drive to the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It will be a long day of driving, but the game drives in and out of the parks can be surprisingly incredible. As you arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon, you will be greeted with a refreshing drink and a warm welcome from the staff. After settling into your rooms, you will gather for dinner under the stars and share stories of your adventures on safari. Tomorrow will be another day of excitement as you explore more of this incredible region.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the campsite or lodge.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

full day in the Serengeti with a flexible schedule and unlimited mileage.

As you crest the hillside, spread out before you, as far as the eyes can see, is the vast Serengeti. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili. This 6,900-square-mile (18,000-square-kilometer) park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and thomson’s gazelles. Large predators, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey, which migrates throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also inhabit the area, along with nearly 500 species of birds.

In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a game drive en route to the campsite.

Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a public campsite or private tented camp/lodge.

Day 5: From Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

Have a morning game drive in Serengeti and then transfer to Ngorongoro.

To spot the animals when they are more active and to see a spectacular sunrise, you will have to get up very early today. You will also go on a safari before breakfast. One of the most breathtaking sights one can see is the sunrise over the African savannah. Return to the camp for brunch after the game drive. Transfer to Ngorongoro, the eighth natural wonder of the world, in the afternoon. The crater resembles Noah’s Ark thanks to its 2,000-foot-high walls and 102 square mile crater floor. Almost all of the East African wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, calls it home. The crater is home to the most wildlife on the entire planet.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

At Ngorongoro, embark on a morning wildlife drive. A spectacular morning of animal watching in one of the most beautiful places on earth will begin the day very early as we make our way down into the crater floor. It will be possible to have a picnic lunch close to the lovely Hippo Lake after the wildlife drive. We’ll have some time for a quick wildlife drive following lunch, after which we’ll climb the crater and leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the direction of Arusha. But we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another circumstance, and we anticipate returning to Arusha at about 5:00 p.m.
